It All Started When . . .

In 1935, an enterprising young man brought into being a small retreading shop in Kannapolis, North Carolina, home of Cannon Mills, famous manufacturer of towels. He named his business Towel City Retreading Company in deference to the nickname of the town. H.O. Cauble, Sr. brought his two sons, Jack and Junior into the business as soon as they were old enough to lift a lug wrench. The sons absorbed the business in every detail and since its beginning sixty-five years ago, Towel City Retreading has remained a family business. Junior Cauble's two sons, Herb and Danny, became the third generation of retreaders, and now Herb's son Brad has become the fourth.

With over sixty years combined experience at Towel City, Herb and Danny, now fill the leadership roles. With Herb and Danny's background and experience, Towel City Retreading products are guaranteed to continue.

In the late 1940s, Towel City was the first tire retreader to enter the racing scene. They started retreading race tires for Ned Jarrett, Lee Petty, the Allison's, Baker's, Cale Yarborough, and the late Ralph Earnhardt. Soon their reputation preceded the company's tires. Towel City lays claim to the simple fact that "most great racing names have used our tires" . . . a claim which carries heavy weight. Since that time, Towel City Retreading has had some of the most prestigious tracks in the country using their tires. The success of Towel City has led to the expansion of tracks and dealers representing all fifty states and overseas.

Due to the conditions under which they operate Towel City Racing tires makes NO WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, LIABILITY expressed or implied on it's products. Towel City Racing tires are sold as is. Towel City Racing tires are not tested or labeled to meet FMVSS 109 or ECE36 safety standards. Therefore it is illegal to sell Towel City Racing tires for highway use.

All Towel City Racing tires are designed to be mounted on approved tire and rim association (TRA) specifications wheels only. Failure to comply could result in injury or death. Chemical treatment "soaking" of Towel City Racing tires is strictly forbidden. Failure to comply with this warning could result in tire failure with serious injury or death. Tire mounting must be performed by specially trained personnel using proper tools and procedures. Failure to follow safe mounting procedures could result in serious injury or death.
